This is to be the final installment to our blog. Myself and The Kearney High Speed Railway Archive, have decided to bring to a end our publication and research. We have decided to do this because we have taken it as far as we can at the present time. There are other area's within the story of Elfric Wells Chalmers Kearney, that others may want to explore. These include :- Monte Carlo to Nice, Portsmouth to Gosport, Leeds, Hull and Venice. Locations he tried unsuccessfully to have the his system adopted. We have touched on these locations previously within the pages of our blog. There is still a lot of research to be done on this story. For example his relationships with some of the leading personalities of the Transport industries of the 20th Century. Henry Ford is one. Elfric always stated to various Governments and Authorities, that he had American finance to assist with the funding, but would never name his sources. Rare image of the Kearney High Speed Railway

We have published this item as we believe it helps to tell the story of Elfric Wells Chalmers Kearney's story. The Kearney Society Archive, has recently discovered this very rare image of the full size working Kearney High Speed Railway carriage. It shows the chassis of the carriage laid down in the workshop of Brush Engineering in Loughborough.

From The Kearney Files The Standard Friday 16th July 1909 Empire supplement Canada Newfoundland The rapid growth of the population and trade of Toronto has necessitated the finding of some solution for the finding of some solution for the traffic problem caused by the congestion and state of the city streets. The idea of a tube railway passing underground through the heart of the city at a rapid rate and then distributing it's loads upon a surface railway in arms extending eastwards and westwards occurred to Controller Houchen of Toronto on a recent visit to New York and other cities where the rapidly growing difficulties that Toronto has been trying in vain to solve have found practical solutions.
