 3220. Mr. Clode : That last tube was an additional convenience which you were to give to the public? --- Yes.

3221. It is not necessarily connected with the in-and-out working of the trains to the Clearing House? --- No, it is a separate tube altogether.

3222. And does not your high-speed tube proceed on the principal of up and down? --- Yes.

3223. You have stations on the level? --- Yes.

3224. Then you dive down and come up again and have another station? --- Yes.

3225. That is your principal? --- Yes.

3226. Have you installed one of these tubes yet? --- Not yet.

3227. Have you done much tube work in London? --- In actual construction work do you mean? 

3228. Yes? --- No.

3229. You have not done any, have you? --- No, I am not a contractor.

3230. You must think that I want to put any offensive remark of that sort to you. I only want to know, as a matter of fact, whether you have either designed or superintended the construction of a tube? --- No.
