Cross-examined by Mr. W. B. Clode, K, C,. (5).

3261. But you think you will use a Greathead shield? --- Certainly.

3262. Those will start with four steel tubes. At what depth will you be there --- just where the tubes start off from the yellow? --- At that point they are only about 15 feet from the surface to the roof.

3263. Then you have come up a little to the Clearing House? --- I am sorry. I am looking at the southern tube. Here is the northern tube. That is somewhat lower, as you see ;  that will be about 40 feet.

3264. You have dropped 5 feet. When you started you were 35 feet and you have come down 5 feet? --- The ground is rising there. This hill (indicating) goes up, so that here, although the tube has not down very much, it is practically a deep level tube, because of the hill. The hill is conveniently situated ; it disappears when we no longer want it.

3265. The tubes are side by side? --- Yes.

3266. Is there any space separating them? --- There will be a space of about 10 feet or so between them.

3367. Then they proved along to that point, where there is a junction? --- Yes.

3268. Is it a pair of lines in each tube up to that point, or only one line? --- Where it becomes blue on the plan you are only looking at the top tube ; there is a red one underneath.

3269. The one superimposed over the other? --- Yes, the one is superimposed over the other.

3270. Do the two red lines join and form one red one, and do the two blue ones join and form one blue one? --- Yes.
