 3331. It is up and down that incline that the traffic would be worked? --- Yes.

3332. I only want to follow out the other junction you have with Bishopsgate Goods Station. Did you say that it came into Bishopsgate at a height of what? --- On a gradient of 1 in 60 it comes in.

3333. It goes right across that street?--- Yes; it goes under the street.

3334. And up again into the station? --- Yes.

3335. That, again, is a simple construction such as you have described for an underground tube? --- Yes.

3336. Does that fall and rise? --- Yes. The gradient is 1 in 50; there is a drop of about 20 feet.

3337. Do you know in what stratum you are? --- I  believe it is London clay.

3338. But no boring has been made? --- No. But from information I have had from the construction of the City and South London tube and if the Great Northern and City Tube which crosses at this point --- (indicating) --- I think it is.

3339. It is above it? --- Yes we shall be above there.

3340. The map is no doubt to scale; have you in your mind the area of these yellow and blue spaces at the entrance to the Clearing House? --- No I have not measured them.
