From the Kearney Files.
From Elfric's diary notes of his last days of his visit in 1931 Australia.
1931.
On the 25th March Elfric returned to Sydney and gave Mr. Lang a final opportunity to see him, but without result. Elfric left Sydney for Melbourne on the 28th March until 13th June in connection with the Williamstown and Geelong tunnel schemes. It was decided not to attempt any further negotiations with the New South Wales Government during the Lang regime.
No progress was made on any of his proposed schemes.
1933, Mr. Lang was dismissed from office by the Governor. New South Wales finances were then at there lowest ebb and time was required for recovery under the present Stevens Government.
It was not until 1934 that Elfric would once again be involved with Australia in regard to his system.
