Motor Buses and Tubes

The object of the scheme it is said to provide a railway which will offer such advantage over any existing means of transit in South London as to attract a
very large traffic. This object can be achieved with a railway with comparatively few stops connect stations and trains running at comparatively high speeds.
By concentrating motor - bus services on the different stations traffic would attract from distances several miles distant. The inclusive journey by bus and high speed tubes being less to almost every case than by any other route no matter how direct. The railway says the promoter while promising to become an exceptionally valuable property in itself is likely to bring large additional revenue to the city and South London, Bakerloo and Piccadilly and District Railways as well as to the buses. Interchange of existing lines would be made at Strand with the Piccadilly ( staircase connection ) and District Railways ( staircase connection ) at Westminster Bridge with the Bakerloo ( staircase connection ) at Oval with the City and South London Railway ( staircase and subway connection ).
