The Strand is likely to have a little " scenic railway" as a new attraction during the summer months, according to a report of the L. C. C. Improvements Committee.
It seems that Mr. E. W. C. Kearney has applied for the temporary use of portion of the island between Aldwych and The Strand for the purpose of constructing an endless track for the running of a car on the Kearney High Speed System.
The scheme provides for enclosing the track with scenery and laying out the ground as a rustic garden.
The Improvements Committee will tomorrow recommend the L. C. C.  To agree to the application, the occupation of the site by Mr. Kearney to cease in October next.
This recommendation however is subject to the option of the Dominion Site Ltd, over the property and the payment of an acknowledge rent of £20 a month.
