London's seaside suburb
The plans for the new seaside suburb are decidedly novel. The town will be built in crescents with radiating avenue's, the first and second crescent will contain first class hotels and boarding houses; the third will be a covered arcade in which all the shops will be situated and which will have a glass span of 45 feet.
In the fourth crescent will be situated the post office, town hall and other public buildings as well as the railway station and larger class of villa's.East and west of the fourth crescent on the sea front a wide piece of common land will be left for use as playing grounds and plenty of space will be provided for the formation of parks and grounds.
This however is not the whole scheme for another site has been acquired for the laying out of a country town so that those who prefer green fields to the sea may be accommodated.
