Galway Pilot and Vindicator. July 28 1917.

This is a  copy of a letter sent to "The Times of London" by
Elfric which was reprinted in the "Galway Pilot and Vindicator".
The following article was found within the files mentioned in the introduction.
The route that Elfric writes about may vary to the route now planned for HS2, but the principle was the same but he wanted to take it further.
This is just one of his schemes that was proposed but was never undertaken.
I would like to think that he would take some satisfaction from the fact HS2 is now underway, whether it is finished is down to Boris Johnson.
As they say "there is nothing new under the sun"
